Farmer Suicide Telangana: Former CM KCR slams Congress government over Farmer suicides

Farmer Suicide Telangana; Hyderabad :Former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, also known as KCR, launched a scathing attack on the Congress-led government in Telangana, labelling it as "inefficient and incompetent." Speaking to the media in Suryapet, Rao alleged that around 200 farmers had tragically ended their lives in the past 100 days due to distress under the current regime. He pointed out the distressing situation faced by farmers, citing the lack of adequate water and power facilities, which has resulted in approximately 15 lakh acres of crops drying up.

Criticizing the ruling Congress for engaging in blame games instead of addressing critical issues, KCR expressed dismay over the alarming rise in farmer suicides within such a short period. He conveyed a message of solidarity to farmers, urging them not to resort to drastic measures and assuring them of support from his opposition party, BRS.

Highlighting the urgency of the situation, KCR stated that while BRS initially intended to allow the new government time to settle, the dire circumstances compelled them to speak out against the failures of the administration. He criticized the lack of review meetings by state officials, attributing it to the chaotic conditions prevailing in the state.

Asserting the strength of his party, KCR dismissed attempts by the ruling Congress to lure BRS MLAs, labeling it as a "cheap political stunt." He reiterated the achievements of his previous government, emphasizing initiatives such as Mission Bhagiratha, which provided drinking water to households, and claimed that the state's agricultural prowess had deteriorated rapidly under the current leadership.

Promise of relief

Vowing to fight for farmers' rights, KCR pledged to ensure compensation of Rs 25,000 for crop damage. He announced plans for BRS cadres to submit memorandums to district collectors and for party legislators to present demands to the state government on April 2.

In conclusion, KCR condemned the Congress for allegedly tarnishing his government's image and reiterated BRS's commitment to advocating for farmers' welfare.
