Opposition Leader in Canada Calls on Trudeau to Be Transparent Regarding Allegations Involving India
Pierre Poilievre, Canada's opposition leader, responded to questions about the expulsion of an Indian diplomat by calling on Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to provide more transparency regarding his allegations against India. Trudeau had accused India of involvement in the alleged killing of Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
Poilievre underscored that without more evidence, the allegations might be considered baseless. He also raised concerns about Trudeau's response to foreign interference by Beijing, suggesting a contrasting approach in that case.
India promptly rejected Trudeau's allegations, describing them as "absurd" and "motivated" in an official statement by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
