PM Modi addressed the nation minutes after the Election Commission unveiled the schedule for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his X account and wrote, "The biggest festival of democracy is here! EC has announced the 2024 Lok Sabha election dates. We, the BJP-NDA, are fully prepared for elections. We are going to the people on the basis of our track record of good governance and service delivery across sectors. #PhirEkBaarModiSarkar"

Critique of Past Governance

PM Modi also took the opportunity to critique the governance of the previous administration, particularly the INDI Alliance. He mentioned that before his government took office ten years ago, the country was grappling with feelings of betrayal and disillusionment.

According to him, the nation faced numerous challenges, including scams and policy paralysis, which had led to a loss of faith both domestically and internationally.

India's glorious turnaround

Reflecting on the past decade, PM Modi highlighted what he described as a "glorious turnaround" for India. He credited his government's policies and initiatives for revitalizing various sectors and restoring India's global standing.

The announcement by PM Modi comes as a significant moment in the lead-up to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, setting the stage for a keenly contested political campaign.
