Appeal for Support
In a bid to foster direct engagement with supporters, Sunita Kejriwal shared a WhatsApp number (8297324624) and encouraged citizens to convey their well wishes for the embattled Delhi Chief Minister. This initiative aims to harness public sentiment and solidarity amidst the ongoing legal turmoil.
Legal Battle Unfolds
The campaign started after Arvind Kejriwal was dramatically arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21 for a liquor policy case. Despite denying the charges, a local court extended his custody until April 1. Kejriwal defended himself, claiming his arrest was a conspiracy to discredit the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Allegations and Counterclaims
The Enforcement Directorate claims that Kejriwal got significant kickbacks from the 'South group' for his role in creating and executing the Delhi Excise Policy. But Kejriwal strongly denies this, saying it's a politically driven attempt to discredit him and his party. The legal fight has intensified as both sides accuse each other.
