The United States has voiced deep concern over the recent allegations made by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, linking Indian government agents to the murder of Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in British Columbia. The White House, through National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson, emphasized its apprehension and called for Canada's investigative process to continue in order to bring the perpetrators to justice.

India, however, has firmly rejected these accusations, categorizing them as "absurd and motivated." The Indian government contends that such allegations divert attention from the pressing issue of Khalistani terrorists and extremists who have sought refuge in Canada, thereby posing an ongoing threat to India's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Furthermore, India highlighted its long-standing concern over the Canadian government's inaction in addressing this matter. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had previously raised similar allegations during a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 10, and on both occasions, these claims were unequivocally dismissed by the Indian side.

Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Canadian citizen, tragically lost his life on June 18 when he was fatally shot in the parking lot of Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in Surrey, British Columbia. Notably, he had been previously designated as a terrorist by the Indian government due to his involvement in pro-Khalistan activities.

As the diplomatic discourse continues, India stands resolute in addressing concerns related to terrorism while advocating for a cooperative and constructive approach to enhance bilateral relations with Canada. The Indian government emphasizes the importance of focusing on concrete measures to combat terrorism, rather than making unsubstantiated allegations that could potentially strain the diplomatic relationship between the two nations. It remains crucial for all parties involved to work collaboratively to maintain the spirit of friendship and cooperation between India and Canada.
