150th Constitution Day was celebrated in the Central Hall of Parliament
The 150th Constitution Day was celebrated in the Central Hall of Parliament on Wednesday. During the ceremony, President Draupadi Murmu released the Constitution in nine new languages: Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Punjabi, Bodo, Kashmiri, Telugu, Odia, and Assamese.
GST strengthens the country's economic unity
The President said, "Parliament has taken a major and historic step towards women's empowerment by eliminating the social evil of triple talaq. GST is the biggest tax reform since independence, strengthening the country's economic unity."
The President stated, "The removal of Article 370 has removed an obstacle to the country's political unity. The Nari Shakti Bandhan Act will mark a new beginning for women-led development." During the ceremony, he also read the Preamble of the Constitution.
In fact, the Constitution of India was completed on November 26, 1949. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, and MPs from both Houses attended the event.

President Draupadi Murmu said, "By eliminating the social evil of triple talaq, Parliament has taken a historic step towards the empowerment of our sisters and daughters. GST, the biggest tax reform since independence, was implemented to strengthen the country's economic unity."

She said that the abrogation of Article 370 removed a barrier that was hindering the country's political unity. The Nari Shakti Bandhan Act will usher in a new era of women-led development.
The President informed that special events are being organized across the country starting November 7th this year to mark the 150th anniversary of the composition of 'Vande Mataram.'

President Draupadi Murmu said, "On Constitution Day, I am delighted to be present among you on this historic occasion. It was in this very Central Hall, on November 26, 1949, that the members of the Constituent Assembly completed the drafting of India's Constitution. It was on this day that "We, the People of India" adopted our Constitution. After independence, the Constituent Assembly also served as the interim Parliament. Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, who served as Chairman of the Drafting Committee, was one of the main architects of our Constitution."
