2025 Mahindra Thar Facelift Launched... amazing features! priced at this much…
New Mahindra Thar 3-Door Price And Features: If there's one name in the Indian automobile industry that's renowned for style, power, and off-roading, it's the Mahindra Thar. Its second-generation model was launched almost five years ago. Today, the company officially launched the new facelifted Thar 3-door for sale. The new Thar 3-door has a starting price of ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
From the outside, it's the same powerful Thar, but a closer look reveals some new twists. Let's take a closer look.

What's New in the Mahindra Thar
At first glance, the Thar retains its rugged and powerful look, but a closer look reveals several small but significant changes. The radiator grille is now finished in body color, and the bumper features silver trim, creating a dual-tone look. While the alloy wheels retain the same design, the rear section now features a parking camera, rear washer, and wiper.
For convenience, the option to open the fuel lid from the driver's seat has also been added. Additionally, the Thar will now be available in two new colors: Tango Red and Battleship Gray.
How's the cabin?
Inside, the cabin has received several updates that make it more practical and modern. Getting in and out of the car is now easier thanks to pillar-mounted grab handles. The power window switches have been relocated to the door panels, making it more intuitive and easy to use.

Some features from the 5-door model, the Thar Rocks, have also been carried over, such as a new steering wheel (though not leather-wrapped), a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a sliding front armrest, and rear AC vents. Notably, this touchscreen features a feature called "Adventure Stats," which displays parameters like altitude, bank angle, pitch, and yaw angle, which will be quite exciting for off-road enthusiasts.
Engine and Performance
Mahindra has also released a new variant lineup for the updated Thar 3-door. This SUV will now be available with different engine and drivetrain combinations. The company offers a choice of a 1.5L diesel (D117 CRDe), a 2.2L mHawk diesel, and a 2.0L mStallion petrol engine. Gearbox options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. Prices for the new Thar start at ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and go up to ₹16.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top variant.
Highlights of the new Thar
The Thar's rugged look remains the same, but with some modern touches.
The radiator grille is now in the same color as the body.
The bumper now features silver trim, providing a dual-tone treatment.
The alloy wheels are the same old design, which is a disappointment.
Summary
However, this update could have been more effective if the company had focused on ride quality and added premium features. Nevertheless, at a starting price of less than Rs 10 lakh, the Thar will still remain the dream SUV for youngsters and off-road enthusiasts who want a mix of power and personality. I don't want to make any compromise.
