Officials said that on Thursday morning, a team of security forces went on an anti-Naxalite operation in the Gangalur police station area on the border of Bijapur and Dantewada. During this, an encounter took place between the security forces and the Naxalites.
The team has killed 22 Naxalites in two separate operations. The security forces have killed 18 Naxalites in Bijapur and 4 in Kanker. In this encounter, a jawan of Bijapur DRG has been martyred.
Search operation is going on
Officials said that the bodies of 18 Naxalites have been recovered from the encounter site. Also, a large number of arms and ammunition has been found from the spot, which has been seized. Meanwhile search operation is still going.
Country will soon be Naxal-free
Expressing happiness over this successful operation of the security forces, the Home Minister wrote on Instagram, today our soldiers have achieved another big success in the direction of 'Naxal Mukt Bharat Abhiyan'. While in two separate operations 22 Naxalites were killed in Bijapur and Kanker of Chhattisgarh.

He further wrote, 'Modi government is moving ahead with a ruthless approach against Naxalites and is adopting a zero-tolerance policy against those Naxalites who are not surrendering despite all the facilities from surrender to inclusion. 17 Naxalites surrendered
Earlier, a police officer said that last week 17 Naxalites had surrendered in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. According to the news agency, Bijapur Superintendent of Police (SP) Jitendra Kumar Yadav told, 'Today 17 Naxalites surrendered in Bijapur district. All the surrendered Naxalites were active in various capacities in the Gangalur Area Committee of the banned Naxalite organization.'

Recently, the CM met Union Home Minister Amit Shah. After the meeting, he told on Twitter that in this meeting he discussed in detail with the Home Minister on completely eliminating Naxalism, accelerating the development of Bastar and promoting tourism and economic activities.
He further wrote, Amit Shah was informed that Naxalism in Chhattisgarh is now on its last stage and our government is taking decisive steps to completely eliminate it. The grip of Naxalite organizations has weakened due to the joint efforts of the state and the Center.
