44 years on, 3 found guilty of 24 Dalits’ killing in Dihuli massacre

Dihuli Massacre: In the Dihuli Massacre case of Mainpuri Court of Uttar Pradesh, justice has been given for the murder of 24 Dalits after 44 years. The court has awarded death penalty to 3 people in this case. Judge Indira Singh gave this verdict. The judge has awarded death penalty to the three murderers and also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 each.

 On 18 November 1981, at 6 pm, dacoits attacked Dihuli village. Santosh and Radhe's gang fired bullets on the entire village in protest against giving testimony in a case, in which 24 innocent people died.

The names of the accused are Ramsevak, Captain Singh and Rampal. On hearing the sentence, the three murderers started crying bitterly in the court.

Justice for the murder of 24 Dalits after 44 years

On 18 November 1981, Radhe and Santosh gangs killed 24 Dalits in Dihuli. A total of 17 accused were named in this case, out of which 13 have died, while one accused Gyanchandra alias Ginna is still absconding. The court has issued a permanent warrant against him.

This historic decision has come 44 years after the massacre. Advocates have also welcomed the court's decision.

Ram Sevak and Captain Singh were found guilty under IPC sections 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder), 148 (rioting armed with deadly weapons), 149 (unlawful assembly), 449 (house trespass) and 450 (crime by entering someone's house).

Rampal was convicted under sections 120B (criminal conspiracy), 302 (murder) and 216A (harbouring criminals).

18 November 1981 incident

Actually, on 18 November 1981, at 6 pm, dacoits attacked Dihuli village. Santosh and Radhe's gang fired bullets on the entire village in protest against giving testimony in a case, in which 24 innocent people died.

After the murder, the miscreants also looted the village heavily.

Jwala Prasad, Ramprasad, Ramdulari, Shringarwati, Shanti, Rajendri, Rajesh, Ramsevak, Shivdayal, Munesh, Bharat Singh, Dataram, Asha Devi, Lalaram, Geetam, Leeladhar, Manikchandra, Bhure, Miss Sheela, Mukesh, Dhandevi, Ganga Singh, Gajadhar and Pritam Singh died in this attack.

Summary

Layak Singh, Vedram, Harinarayan, Kumar Prasad and Banwari Lal became witnesses of this incident. However, now they are also not alive. However, on the basis of their testimony, prosecution kept the case strong. Especially Kumar Prasad had presented the full details of the incident as an eyewitness in the court.
