5 from Purvanchal, 5 women, 8 councilors', know what is special in Delhi BJP's list
Delhi Assembly Election 2025: After a huge victory in Haryana and Maharashtra, BJP is preparing to come out in full force against the Aam Aadmi Party. The party is trying to balance all the equations. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday released its second list of 29 candidates for the Delhi Assembly elections.
The party has given ticket to former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kapil Mishra from Karawal Nagar. While BJP has been fielded Harish Khurana, son of former Delhi Chief Minister Madanlal Khurana, from Moti Nagar constituency. the BJP has so far announced the names of candidates on 58 seats for the 70-member Delhi Assembly elections.
Attempt to woo women
This time BJP has given place to women candidates. BJP has given tickets to 5 women. BJP is trying to bring women voters with them. Priyank Gautam has been fielded from Kondli. Priyanka Gautam had recently left Aam Aadmi Party and joined BJP. The party has fielded Shweta Saini from Tilak Nagar. BJP has made Deepti Indora its candidate from Matia Mahal.
BJP expressed trust in youth
BJP has tried to give tickets to young and new faces. Many young faces have been fielded by the party. Some former MPs have also been fielded.
Trust in nepotism
BJP has also made former MP and former Chief Minister's son as its candidate. The party has fielded former Chief Minister Saheb Singh Verma and Madan Lal Khurana's son. Madan Lal Khurana's son Harish Khurana has been fielded from Moti Nagar constituency. Saheb Singh Verma's son Parvesh Verma has been fielded from New Delhi seat.
Attempt to woo Purvanchali vote
The party has again fielded its sitting MLA Abhay Verma from Laxmi Nagar seat. He won this seat in 2020 by a narrow margin of over 800 votes. Both Mishra and Verma are from Purvanchal. Two other candidates, Bajrang Shukla from Kiradi and Pankaj Singh from Vikaspuri, are also from Purvanchal.
BJP also trusts councilors
BJP has given place to many local leaders and councillors in the electoral list. The party's second list includes the names of four former MLAs and eight current councillors. BJP has fielded former mayor Shyam Sharma from Hari Nagar seat, where there is a significant number of Sikh voters.

BJP preparing to give tough fight
