The trusted Amul brand of buttermilk has turned into a threat to people's lives. In Kutch (Kutchh), a considerable number of individuals consuming Amul buttermilk have been admitted to hospitals, raising doubts about Amul's dependability. Around 600 people in Kutch are presently undergoing treatment for diarrhea following their consumption of Amul's buttermilk and curd. This incident has brought Amul's significant negligence to light, eroding people's faith in the brand. Despite being an established brand like Amul, this occurrence has sparked widespread discussions and concerns.

Questions raised against Amul

Over 600 individuals have fallen victim to food poisoning as a result of consuming Amul's buttermilk and curd, leading to widespread concerns about the brand's safety. The incident has prompted questions about the necessity of issuing warnings before consuming Amul buttermilk, as well as encouraging people to contemplate the use of other Amul products. The incident has caused people to raise inquiries about the brand's reliability. In response, Kutch Food and Drugs authorities have taken 18 samples of curd for testing subsequent to the outbreak. Additional Collector Mitesh Pandya, who is in charge, has advised against consuming such packaged buttermilk and curd for the next day or so. The presentation was delivered by His Highness Nareshbhai Maheshwari, the President of National Dalit Rights. The Chief Minister, Home Minister, West Kutch SP, and DGP have been tagged on Twitter, urging them to take action against those responsible for this negligence. Nevertheless, Sarhad Dairy, owned by Amul Dairy, has put forth a weak defense by claiming that only 3 to 4 individuals have reported illness following the consumption of curd.

600 people experienced diarrhea from the consumption of curd and buttermilk

Today, millions of individuals across the country and abroad rely on Amul brand dairy products; however, Amul's reputation is currently in decline. Both Amul's buttermilk and curd have turned into potential health hazards for consumers. Reports indicate that numerous individuals who consumed Amul milk have been admitted to hospitals in Kutch. In this region, around 600 people have suffered from diarrhea exclusively due to the consumption of curd and buttermilk. Based on the available information, a significant number of people's health has been affected. As a result, the distribution of milk products, including buttermilk and curd, in the Gandhidham taluka has been halted. Additionally, the Food and Health Department has undertaken thorough inspections of various shops.

Amul products recalled from the market

There is an ongoing discussion about the Health Department taking actions against vendors of older buttermilk and milk, which has gained momentum. Milk products are now a subject of widespread concern due to the fear of food poisoning. It should be noted that a significant number of diarrhea cases have been reported in the past two days. The milk company responsible for manufacturing these products has also recalled its goods from the market.

Individuals experienced diarrhea, after consuming yogurt, milk, and buttermilk

Sources report that a team from the health department conducted an inspection at the Kutch district panchayat canteen in Bhuj. Upon investigation, it was determined that the cases of diarrhea were linked to the consumption of milk, yogurt and buttermilk. Officials from Kutch border dairy are yet to provide a response or statement on the matter. District Epidemiological Officer Jitesh Khorasiya personally verified this information and confirmed its accuracy. He also conducted inspections at all the shops that sell Amul products. In addition, Echarge DDO Mitesh Pandya advised the residents of Kutch not to consume Amul's chaas (buttermilk) or curd for one day.

Amul Product sample collected

Currently, the Kutch Food and Drug Department has dispatched 18 samples from the district to the government laboratory in Vadodara for testing. Valamji Humbal, the chairman of Kutch Sarhad Dairy, has chosen not to comment on the matter and could not be reached by phone. Nareshbhai Maheshwari, the State President of the National Dalit Rights Forum, has taken to Twitter to demand action against those accountable for the situation involving Amul products. He has reached out to the Chief Minister, Home Minister, and DGP in this regard.

Does something like this also happen in a brand as reputable as Amul?

Is it necessary to consider carefully before purchasing Amul's curd and milk? Such a question has arisen. This incident has also highlighted that even in brands like Amul, there is a significant amount of confusion prevailing. A thorough investigation is necessary to determine whose negligence led to the occurrence of this entire incident.
