7 died in a stampede, during Nirvana Laddu festival of Lord Adinath in Baghpat

The stage broke during the Laddu Nirvana Mahotsav in the Lord Adinath temple in Baghpat district of UP. During this, a stampede occurred due to the collapse of the stage, in which 7 people have died so far. While about 50 devotees of the Jain community were seriously injured. All the injured devotees were admitted to the hospital for treatment. The condition of many people in the accident remains worrisome. However, the injured are being treated in the hospital.

This accident has been taken place in the Manastambh complex on Gandhi Road in Baraut. Meerut Division Commissioner Rishikesh Bhaskar Yashod said that so far, the death of seven people has been confirmed.

District Magistrate Asmita Lal said, "A wooden structure had collapsed, in which at least 40 people have been injured."

Asmita Lal said, "Seven people have been confirmed dead in this accident. Some injured have been sent home after first aid while 20 people are admitted in the hospital."

Stage broke during the offering of laddus

A grand 65 feet high stage was built for the Nirvana Laddu Mahotsav in the Lord Adinath temple of Baghpat Baraut Kotwali area. When the devotees were reaching the stage to offer laddu to Lord Adinath, suddenly the stairs of the stage broke and there was a stampede. After which about 50 people were seriously injured in this accident and were admitted to the hospital for treatment.

At the same time, after the accident, the district administration is engaged in relief work and the injured are being treated in nearby government and private hospitals. At present, the district administration is contacting the families of the injured people.

District Superintendent of Police Arpit Vijayvargiya said that permission was taken to build this scaffolding.

He said, "This program has been going on for 25 years and every year such a scaffolding is built. Permission was also taken for this. Why the accident happened will be known only after investigation."

This accident happened in the morning when laddu was being offered to Lord Adinath in the Manastambh complex located on Gandhi Road in Baraut.

High scaffolding was built to reach the pillar, a part of which suddenly fell

Hundreds of devotees were present in the premises at the time of the accident. According to the police, more than 50 people were buried under this wooden scaffolding. According to eyewitnesses, the injured were immediately taken to the hospital. Some of the injured had to be taken to the hospital on e-rickshaws and carts.

According to eyewitnesses, "Immediately after the accident, people started pulling out the injured from the wooden planks. Police and administrative officials reached the spot as soon as they got information about the incident."
