79th Independence Day: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the 79th Independence Day celebrations from the historic Red Fort in Delhi on August 15. This year's event will be based on the theme 'New India', which will reflect the country's progress, self-reliance and the goal of a developed India by 2047. During this, PM Modi will hoist the national flag tricolor and address the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort.

This year the guard will be conducted by Wing Commander A.S. Sekhon of the Indian Air Force. The Prime Minister will be accompanied by the Defense Minister, Minister of State for Defense, Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan, and the chiefs of the three armies on the ramparts of the Red Fort. Also Prime Minister will get 21-gun salute will be given by 1721 Field Battery (Ceremonial) from indigenous 105 mm light field gun, which will be led by Major Pawan Singh Shekhawat.

Tomorrow nation will celebrate Independence day

While the contingent will salut the national flag will include 128 soldiers from the Army, Navy, Air Force . For the first time, the Air Force Band will play the national anthem along with 11 'Agniveer Vayu' musicians of the Air Force. During this, two Mi-17 helicopters of the Air Force will shower flowers - one will display the national flag and the other the flag of 'Operation Sindoor'.

After the flag hoisting, the Prime Minister will address the nation, after which 2,500 NCC cadets and 'My India' volunteers will sing the national anthem and create the logo of 'New India' on Gyanpath.

Around 5,000 special guests will attend this Independence Day celebration, including athletes of Special Olympics 2025, gold medalists of Khelo India Para Games, outstanding farmers, sarpanches, young writers, entrepreneurs, and women beneficiaries of government schemes like PM Awas Yojana Gramin and 'Lakhpati Didi'. Apart from this, 1,500 people will be present in traditional costumes of different states and 1,000 winners of patriotic competitions.

Summary

For the convenience of the public, 25 cloakrooms have been arranged at 12 locations, 190 volunteers of 'My India' and NCC, wheelchair facility at metro stations and parking, and additional parking for 250 cars. At the same time, Delhi Metro services will start from 4 am. Apart from this, to celebrate Independence Day, on the evening of August 15, bands of Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, NCC and various paramilitary forces will perform at more than 140 places across the country.
