A bus fire on the Maharashtra motorway claimed the lives of 25 people.
The bus was going from
Yavatmal in Maharashtra to Pune when a fire broke out on the Samruddhi Mahamarg
motorway in Buldhana.
Police say that at
least 25 people died when a bus with 33 people on board caught on fire on the
Samruddhi Mahamarg motorway in Buldhana, Maharashtra.Deputy SP Baburao Mahamuni
said that the people who were hurt were taken to Buldhana Civil Hospital.

A private excursions
bus traveling from Nagpur to Pune smashed into a barrier near Sindkhedraja
in Buldhana district at around 2 a.m. on Saturday.
Buldhana SP Sunil
Kadasne told PTI that, according to what they know so far, a bus tyre blew and
the bus hit a pole, crashed into a divider, and caught fire. 25 of the 33 people
on the bus died from the fire.
The bus driver, who
lived through the accident, told Kadasane that the bus flipped over after a
tyre burst and started a fire inside.
The office of the chief
minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, said that the next of kin of the people
who died in the bus accident will get a one-time payment of 5 lakh.
Devendra Fadnavis, the
deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, said that the event was “very
shocking and heart-wrenching.” He said that the government remains in
check with the district and police administration and that all kinds of help
are being given right away.
“The state
government will pay for the injured people’s medical care,” he said.
Union home minister
Amit Shah said he was saddened by what happened and that the government was
taking care of the people who were hurt.
“The accident on
the road in the Buldhana area of Maharashtra is very sad. In this time of
sadness, my thoughts are with the families of those who died in this terrible
accident. The injured are getting care quickly from the government. Shah said in
a tweet in Hindi, “I pray to God that he gets better quickly.”
