What is Aadhaar Offline Verification?

Offline verification is a method where the user does not need to share their full Aadhaar number or sensitive information. Instead, they can show a digitally signed file or a secure QR code. This QR code or file contains only the basic information necessary to prove identity. This data is certified by UIDAI, so it cannot be tampered with. The best part is that it does not involve biometric or live database checks, keeping your complete Aadhaar information under your control.

Where will this system be useful?

This system is rapidly becoming popular in places where identity is frequently required, such as hotels and guesthouses, concerts and large public events, residential societies or office entry, retail stores, and service centers. Previously, people used to prove their identity by providing photocopies of their Aadhaar card, but these copies were often used elsewhere without permission. Now, instead, users share an expiring digital file or QR code, which is secure and cannot be reused.

This method will reduce the risk of fraud
