After Eid prayers in Saharanpur, crowd raised slogans of Palestine Zindabad

After Friday prayers, a large crowd gathered in the middle of the city and started raising slogans of Palestine Zindabad.

Eid: After prayers in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, the crowd gathered at Ghantaghar and raised slogans of Palestine Zindabad. They had green flags and the flag of Palestine in their hands. Some of these youths were also carrying the tricolor. After their pictures went viral on social media, the administration has started identifying these people.

Like every year, this time too Eid prayers were held at Idgah ground on Ambala Road. Strict security arrangements were made here beforehand. Police remained deployed all around to prevent prayers from being offered on the roads. Shahar Qazi, Qazi Nadeem performed the prayers here in the traditional manner.

After the prayers were over, people headed towards their homes but in the meantime a group of youths were seen running towards the clock tower.

Some of them also had the flag of Palestine and some had T-shirts with Gaza written on them. First they reached the clock tower making noise. During this time they raised slogans and were seen running while creating a ruckus. After this, a crowd of hundreds gathered at the clock tower.

This crowd started moving round and round and here they started raising slogans of Palestine Zindabad while waving the flag. This caused a jam at the clock tower. During this time the police duty was on at the Idgah ground and nearby mosques. In such a situation, there was no force at the clock tower, some policemen were definitely standing here who made videos of the crowd. Now the administration has compiled these videos.

Summary

Even though the CCTV cameras installed at the clock tower are also going haywire. Efforts are being made to find out who these people were. Their audio recordings are also being made. Senior Superintendent of Police Rohit Singh Sajwan said that a crowd had gathered at the clock tower, CCTV footage is being retrieved, appropriate action will be taken after investigation.
