After Indonesia and Nepal, now earthquake tremors have been felt in Tajikistan as well.

Earthquake tremors have been felt in Indonesia. The German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) reported that a 5.9 magnitude earthquake struck southern Sumatra, Indonesia. At the same time, mild tremors of earthquake have also been felt in Nepal

There is no immediate report of any casualties or any significant damage due to the earthquake. However, officials are closely monitoring the situation.

GFZ said early Friday that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers. There is no news of anyone being injured or casualties so far. However, officials are closely monitoring the situation.

Earthquake tremors felt in Tajikistan as well

According to the National Center for Seismology, after Indonesia-Nepal, now earthquake tremors have been felt in Tajikistan as well. The magnitude of the earthquake in Tajikistan has been measured at 3.9 on the Richter scale. NCS said that an earthquake of 3.9 magnitude has occurred in Tajikistan.

Earthquake also occurred in Nepal

According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), an earthquake of 4.3 magnitude occurred in Nepal on Friday morning. The epicenter of the earthquake was at 29.36 degrees north latitude and 80.44 degrees east longitude at a depth of 10 km. This earthquake was recorded at 1:33 am Indian time.

NCS gave information on X and said that a 4.3 magnitude earthquake occurred in Nepal on May 23 at 01:33 minutes 53 seconds at latitude: 29.36 N, longitude: 80.44 E, depth: 10 km depth.

Nepal's vulnerability to earthquakes

Although Nepal is one of the most earthquake-prone regions in the world, as it lies on the boundary of the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates. The Indian plate is constantly sliding northward beneath the Eurasian plate, a process called subduction.

This process creates enormous pressure and stress in the Earth's surface that not only causes frequent earthquakes, but is also responsible for the formation and uplift of the Himalayan mountain range.

Summary

Nepal has a tragic history of seismic events, the most notable being the devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake in April 2015 that claimed nearly 9,000 lives
