AI City is being built in this city! Homes, hospitals, and malls... jobs will also be available.
AI City: An "Artificial Intelligence (AI) City" is going to be built in Kochi. It will not just be a tech park, but an integrated city for living and working. The entire project will be completed by 2030, with a massive investment of ₹25,000 crore. Most importantly, it will create 200,000 direct and over 400,000 indirect jobs.
It is designed as an AI-native city, where everything will be controlled by Artificial Intelligence (AI). It will be a fully integrated urban system, powered by AI.

Why is this AI City special?
It will be Kerala's first AI township. All city activities (traffic, civic services, etc.) will be controlled using AI, allowing for early detection and resolution of problems. It will also be carbon negative and water positive, meaning environmental considerations will be taken into account (such as rainwater harvesting and waste management using AI).
What amenities will be available?
Infopark Phase III is designed as a complete community. Its goal is to provide a high quality of life to everyone living and working there. Over 5,000 housing units and apartments will be built for residents. The township will strive to meet the highest standards of sustainability. This includes using solar energy, rainwater harvesting to achieve water positivity, and utilizing modern systems to achieve zero waste.

The township will include residential homes, schools, colleges, a sports complex, a shopping mall, and a hospital. The town will be built on 300 acres of land, primarily in the Kizhakkambalam and Kunnathunad areas of Ernakulam district. It will have over 20 million square feet of commercial space. This space will be developed for high-tech companies and large global capability centers.
How is the project progressing?
The entire project is a team effort. Infopark serves as the primary developer and owner, while the GCDA handles the land-pooling process. This land-pooling model requires the consent of at least 75% of landowners for development work. This process involves merging their small plots, and upon completion, the owners receive a portion of the developed land.
Summary
After signing the official Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), both entities will submit the master plan and a full report to the government within a year. They aim to complete the entire development by 2030. This project will help firmly establish Kochi as a leading global IT hub.
