All party meeting before the start of winter session held today
Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi chaired an all-party meeting of floor leaders of political parties of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on December 2, Saturday. This meeting is held ahead of the winter parliamentary session so that the winter session is held smoothly.
The all-party meeting began at 11 am at the Parliamentary Library building. The winter session of the parliament is scheduled to commence on December 4 and end on December 22.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, Congress leaders Jairam Ramesh, Gaurav Gogoi, and Pramod Tiwari, Trinamool leader Sudip Bandyopadhyay, NCP leader Fouzia Khan, and RSP leader N K Premachandran and other leaders attended the meeting.
The meeting was held just a day before the results of assembly elections in four states are to be announced. These states are Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Telangana. Results of the Assembly elections in Mizoram will be announced on December 4.
All-party meeting prior to Parliamentary Session
Usually, an all-party meeting is conducted a day before the parliamentary session starts, but this time, due to the election results announcement scheduled on Dec 3, the meeting was postponed to 2nd December.

Currently, Parliament has 37 bills awaiting deliberation, with 12 designated for consideration and approval, and seven set for introduction, consideration, and approval. Within this lineup are three bills aimed at replacing antiquated criminal laws from the colonial era, namely the Indian Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure, and the Evidence Act
