America: The US President Donald Trump has postponed the 25 percent tariff imposed on goods imported from India for a week. Now this tariff will be effective from August 7 instead of August 1. Donald Trump has imposed new tariffs on 92 countries including India. These will be implemented from August 7. In this, 25 percent tariff has been imposed on India and 19 percent on Pakistan. The lowest tariff in South Asia has been imposed on Pakistan; earlier it was 29 percent.

At the same time, the highest tariff in the world has been imposed on Syria, which is 41 percent. China's name is not included in the list.

Trump has postponed the 25 percent tariff on India

Trump had announced tariffs on countries around the world on April 2, but postponed it for 90 days only 7 days later. A few days later, time was given till 31 July. Then the target was set to make 90 deals in 90 days. However, in the meantime, America was able to reach an agreement with only 7 countries.

Announcing the new tariff on Wednesday, Donald Trump wrote in a post on the social media platform 'Truth Social', "India has always bought most of the military supplies from Russia and now along with this China, has become the biggest buyer of energy from Russia. At a time when the whole world is hoping for the end of the Russia-Ukraine war, this attitude of India is not appropriate. These things are not good."

Tariff will be effective from August 7 instead of August 1

Trump further said that therefore India will have to pay 25 percent tariff and it will also have to pay an additional penalty for these reasons. At the same time, on this announcement of Trump, India has said that it will take all necessary steps to protect its national interests.

The opposition has raised questions on this tariff imposed by Trump on India. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi raised questions on the government's policy after the 25 percent US tariff on India. Rahul Gandhi said that BJP does not know how to run the country. This government has destroyed the entire economy of the country.

Earlier these tariffs were to be implemented from August 1, Friday, but Trump has postponed this decision for a week. In an executive order titled 'Further Revisions in Reciprocal Tariff Rates', President Trump announced tariff rates for about 70 countries around the world.
