It has been said in the letter that a large number of devotees / bathers are arriving in Mahakumbh-2025, in such a situation, for their smooth, safe and well-organized movement, it is necessary to stop the movement of rail passengers from Daraganj from 17 February to 28 February 2025.

Regarding this, Prayagraj DM Ravindra Kumar Mandhad has requested the Divisional Railway Manager to keep Daraganj railway station closed for passengers on the above-mentioned date. Sangam railway station falls in Daraganj area of Mahakumbh area. It is the closest railway station to the fair area.

In fact, a huge crowd of devotees is reaching Mahakumbh before Mahashivratri. There is a long queue of vehicles inside and outside the city. Due to Sunday being a holiday, there was a jam in Prayagraj and its surrounding areas.

However, the traffic system is running fine right now. There is a jam situation only at a few places. The DGP of UP said that the traffic is running smoothly on the routes around Prayagraj to come to Mahakumbh.

At present, around 8 am, there was a traffic jam on two roads of Prayagraj city - Leprosy Tiraha and Phaphamau Tiraha. At the same time, the traffic is clear on Mirzapur-Prayagraj Highway. Traffic system is also running smoothly on the routes to and from Prayagraj from Rewa, Jaunpur, Lucknow, Varanasi and Kaushambi.

It is worth mentioning that earlier on 9 February itself, Prayagraj Sangam railway station was closed till 14 February due to the crowd on the occasion of Maghi Purnima. The station was to open at 12 midnight on 14 February, but in view of the crowd, this time limit was extended till 12 midnight on 16 February.

Northern Railway Lucknow Division official had told that passengers should catch the train from Prayag and Phaphamau stations only, special trains are also being operated from these stations.
