Amid the violence in Nepal video of Indian girl trapped in Nepal goes viral

Nepal protests: The violence in Nepal has taken the lives of many people so far and property worth crores has been destroyed. People are hiding in their homes to save their lives. However, they still feel that their lives are in danger. Even the violent protesters are targeting tourists. Meanwhile, a video of an Indian girl is going viral on social media, in which she is appealing to the Indian government for help. This girl named Upasana Gill has narrated the story of her scary experience in Nepal and has told that the violent protesters had set fire to the hotel where she was staying.

She says that the hotel in which she was staying was burnt by the protesters and people with sticks ran to kill her too.

‘Hotel burnt, crowd ran with sticks’

In the video, the girl told that when she was in a spa inside the hotel, a mob with sticks was running after her, due to which she had to run away to save her life. The girl further told that she had come to Nepal to host a volleyball league, but now she is badly stuck.

Protesters set the hotel on fire

In the video you can see that the girl says, 'My name is Upasana Gill and I am sending this video to Praful Garg. I really need help from Indian Embassy. Whoever can help us, please help. I am stuck here in Pokhara, Nepal. I had come here to host a volleyball league and the hotel where I was staying has been burnt. All my belongings were in my room and the entire hotel caught fire. I was in the spa and suddenly protesters were running after me with sticks. I was able to run away to save my life with great difficulty.'

Upasana Gill further told that the violent protesters did not even spare the tourists. He said, 'The situation here is very bad. Roads are being set on fire everywhere. They are not even leaving tourists here. They do not care whether there are any tourists or not. They are setting fire everywhere without thinking and the situation here has become very, very bad.'

Why has violence erupted in Nepal?

The Gen Z protest led by students in Nepal is at its peak. It started in protest against the government ban on social media, but now this protest has turned into a big campaign. As soon as the protest intensified, Prime Minister Oli had to resign, while before that the ban on social media was also lifted, but despite this the protest is not stopping. The protesters set fire to many government buildings and houses of many big leaders, including the Parliament House.

Indian Embassy issued advisory

The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, Nepal has issued an advisory keeping in mind the safety of Indian citizens and has said that any kind of travel should be postponed until the situation comes under control. At the same time, the Ministry of External Affairs has also advised Indian citizens to stay in their homes, avoid going out on the roads and take full precautions.
