On January 17, Apple officially unveiled a gigantic new office in Bengaluru, India's Silicon Valley. This new office is prominently situated on Cubbon Road, near Minsk Square.

Up to 1,200 workers will be able to live in the 15-story facility, which also features 740 parking spaces. In addition, there are dedicated lab spaces, areas for collaboration and well-being, and coffee machines in the new workplace.

In addition, the office aims to achieve a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating, the highest level of LEED certification, and operates solely on renewable energy.

Regarding the interior design of the business, numerous native plants are adorning the office space in addition to locally sourced stone, wood, and wall and floor coverings.

Apple expressed excitement about growing in India

In discussing the new facility, Apple expressed enthusiasm about its expansion in India, particularly in Bengaluru. The company highlighted the city's role as a hub for various skilled teams, encompassing software engineering, hardware technologies, operations, customer support, and more.

Emphasizing Apple's commitment to fostering innovation, creativity, and collaboration, the statement described the workspace as an exceptional environment for teams to work together.

Apple now has locations in Hyderabad, Gurugram, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. Among the many responsibilities carried out by the Bengaluru office are those related to software, hardware, services, IS&T, operations, and customer support.

Apple employs over 3,000 people in India

At the moment, the well-known tech company employs over 3,000 people in India. This move comes after Apple opened two physical locations in India in 2023—one in BKC and the other in Saket—signaling the company's commitment to the region.

According to research firm IDC, the iPhone accounted for about 235 million shipments last year, or a fifth of the global market. With double-digit declines in shipments to 226.6 million, Samsung ranked second, ahead of Chinese manufacturers such as Xiaomi Corp.

For 2023, Samsung Electronics Co.'s smartphones were overtaken by Apple Inc.'s iPhone to take the top spot in terms of sales. Since 2010, this is the first time the biggest corporation in South Korea has dropped out of the top rank.
