AQI remains poor in Delhi, trains and flights delayed due to fog

Delhi AQI: The Delhi's air quality has remained in the 'poor' category for the second consecutive day this week, as revealed by data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). The Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 264 at 6 am on Wednesday, indicating a serious situation. The level of pollution in Delhi can be harmful to health at this time. Meanwhile, transport services have also been disrupted due to fog.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a minimum temperature of 11 degrees Celsius and moderate fog for Wednesday. Also, a yellow alert has been issued due to thunderstorms and lightning.

Many trains were running late

The fog has had a huge impact on Delhi's transport system. Due to dense fog, 9 trains coming to Delhi have arrived late. Apart from this, flight operations at Indira Gandhi International Airport have also been affected, due to which many flights have been delayed.

The Meteorological Department says that the maximum temperature can remain between 21 to 24 degrees Celsius.

Poor AQI in these areas

The air quality level in different areas of Delhi remains worrisome. AQI in Anand Vihar (312), Rohini (301), and Bawana (314) is in the 'very poor' category, while areas like ITO (313) and Jahangirpuri (294) also have very poor pollution levels. However, the AQI in Shadipur is 174, which falls in the 'moderate' category and provides some relief.

Summary 

Although there has been a slight improvement in the AQI compared to last week, the level of pollution still remains harmful for health. Therefore, people are being advised to take precautions while going out.
