Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi’s Chief Minister announced Diwali bonus for government employees
Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal announced on November 6 that all government employees in Group C and Group B (not gazetted) would receive a bonus of Rs. 7,000 ahead of Diwali.
At a press conference, Chief Minister Kejriwal announced that the Delhi government had set aside Rs. 56 crore to give 80,000 workers bonuses for Diwali.
Bonuses for Group C and non-gazetted Group B rank officials, including paramilitary forces, were also authorized by the Narendra Modi-led Central government last month. For 2022–2023, the finance ministry set a Rs. 7,000 cap on non-productivity linked bonuses, or ad hoc bonuses, for employees of the central government.

Every year on the 15th day of the month of Kartik, Amavasya, also known as the new moon, is when people celebrate Diwali. Diwali will be observed this year on a Sunday, November 12.
