Assam: Husband Beheads Wife, Cycles To Police Station With Her Severed Head

A 60-year-old man beheaded his wife and reached the police station on bicycle with the severed head.

In Assam, a 60-year-old man beheaded his wife. He reached the police station on bicycle with the severed head and surrendered. The incident took place in Chirang district on the night of 19 April.

Police said that the accused Bitish Hajong cut off his wife's head with a sharp weapon and then reached the police station on bicycle. He kept his wife's severed head in the bicycle basket.

Husband Beheads Wife

Police said that the accused Bitish is a daily wage labourer. There were fights between him and his wife, due to which Bitish killed his wife. A neighbour said that after Bitish returned home from work on Saturday night, there was a big fight between the two. Both used to fight over petty issues every day.

Cycles to police station with her severed head

Chirang ASP Rashmi Rekha Sharma said, 'We have taken the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem. Forensic experts have collected samples. The accused husband has been taken into custody and further investigation is underway.'

Man stayed with the body for three days after killing his wife in Agra

A similar incident came to light in Agra on April 1. In which a husband killed his wife. After this, he stayed in the house with the body for three days. The accused called his sister-in-law and informed her about the murder. Said- I have killed your sister; the body is lying in the house. Take her away and perform the last rites.

Summary

The elder sister of the deceased reached the house with the police. The door was locked from outside. The husband was absconding. When the police broke the lock and reached inside, the body of the woman was found. The throat had been slit; blood was scattered all over the house
