Attack on truth: Pakistan's misleading propaganda active after 'Operation Sindoor'
Operation Sindoor: After the successful military operation 'Operation Sindoor' carried out by India, Pakistan has started an organized and fierce propaganda campaign. The purpose of this propaganda war is to suppress the truth, confuse the public and divert attention from India's military success.
An alternative but completely fabricated narrative is being created through social media using false claims, old pictures and unrelated videos.
In this report, know about Pakistan's digital war and fact-checking efforts, which are being run to suppress India's military success.
Fake news being deliberately spread
Pakistan-backed social media accounts and political personalities have made several false and misleading claims. These include a viral picture which said that Pakistan shot down an Indian Rafale aircraft near Bahawalpur. PIB Fact Check debunked this claim and clarified that this picture is of the MiG-21 crash that happened in Moga, Punjab in 2021.

Another video claimed that the Indian Army surrendered at Chora Post but this false video has also been refuted by several fact check platforms.
Pakistan Minister Attaullah Tarar has supported this fake claim and turned it into a state-sponsored lie.
Old videos, new stories!
There have also been claims of the Pakistan Air Force attacking the Srinagar Airbase, but this video was related to the communal violence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in early 2024. At the same time, pictures of the old crash of MiG-29 in Barmer, Rajasthan were shared to show that the Indian Air Force has suffered losses recently.

Minister's statement and then U-turn
Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif claimed that Indian soldiers have been taken captive during Operation Sindoor. But when no evidence emerged, they withdrew their statement and admitted that no Indian soldiers were in custody.
Strategy of digital war
All this shows that Pakistan has launched a well-planned information war. In this war, facts are being distorted, and digital means are being used to suppress the success of India's Operation Sindoor. This strategy is not only an attempt to confuse the Indian public, but its aim is also to mislead the international community and incite public sentiments inside Pakistan.
Summary
India is giving a befitting reply to this misleading campaign by constantly fact-checking and sharing accurate information.
