Ayushman Bharat Scheme card distribution starts in Delhi – all you need to know

Ayushman Bharat Scheme will be implemented in Delhi from today (April 10). Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh gave information about the registration of the scheme on Wednesday. Under this, families of economically weaker sections will be able to avail the health insurance scheme.

The agreement between the Center and the Delhi Government will be signed on Thursday to implement the Prime Minister Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission. Under the Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission, a budget of about Rs 2,400 crore will be available for the development of Delhi's health infrastructure.

Agreement was made on April 5

Ayushman cards of the beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) will start being made from Thursday itself. An agreement was signed on April 5 between the National Health Authority (NHA) of the Central Government and the State Health Agency of the Delhi Government to implement PMJAY in the national capital.

Eligibility criteria for Ayushman Bharat card

While the PM-JAY will cover beneficiaries of two categories (urban and rural beneficiaries). About 30 lakh members of 6.54 lakh poor families of Delhi, about six lakh elderly people above 70 years of age, Asha workers, Anganwadi workers will get its benefit.

Poor families will get health insurance of Rs 10 lakh

Under the Ayushman scheme, Delhiites will get the benefit of health insurance of Rs 10 lakh. The Delhi government will provide additional health insurance of Rs 5 lakh in addition to the Rs 5 lakh from the Center.

About 36 lakh people will get the benefit of Rs 5 lakh under the scheme and additional health insurance of Rs 5 lakh from the Delhi government. In the first phase, 2.35 thousand families will be included and Ayushman cards of the beneficiaries will start being made from April 10.

How to Apply for Ayushman Card in Delhi?

Applicants can check their eligibility on PM-JAY (pmjay.gov.in) website or mobile application.

Click on ABHA registration button.

Eligible people will have to submit their information and documents (Aadhaar, PAN, Voter ID) to verify their identity.

Once your application is reviewed and approved, applicants will get their Ayushman card.

To apply offline, visit your nearest CSC. Here the CSC operator will verify your documents and submit the application to fill the application form.
