Baba Kedarnath Dham to reopen from May 2 for pilgrims

On the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, the date for opening the doors of the temple has been announced. This year, from May 2, the doors of Kedarnath Dham will open at 7 am in Taurus Lagna. The doors of Kedarnath Dham will be opened in the auspicious time. With this, the Char Dham Yatra will also begin.

The Jyotirlinga established in Kedarnath Dham is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas and holds a prominent place in Panch Kedar.

Every year it is closed for six months due to heavy snowfall in winter.

These 12 Jyotirlingas are in different cities of the country, including Somnath and Nageshwar Temple of Gujarat, Mallikarjuna Temple of Andhra Pradesh, Mahakaleshwar and Omkareshwar Temple of Madhya Pradesh, Kedarnath Temple of Uttarakhand, Bhimashankar and Trayambakeshwar Temple of Maharashtra, Kashi Vishwanath Temple of Uttar Pradesh, Vaidyanath Temple of Jharkhand, Rameswaram of Tamil Nadu and Ghushmeshwar Temple of Maharashtra.

The famous Kedarnath Dham is one of the four Dhams of Uttarakhand. Kedarnath temple is located at a distance of about 16 kilometers from Gaurikund in Rudraprayag district.
