He identified three habits that he believes contribute to the problems faced by most patients who come to his clinic.

Weight loss studies show that losing 10 kilograms reduces LDL cholesterol by 7-9 mg/dL, while the first 5-10 percent of body weight reduces triglyceride and total cholesterol levels. Health agencies worldwide consider smoking to be the leading cause of premature deaths from heart disease. Quitting smoking quickly improves HDL levels and reduces the risk of heart disease in the years to come.
