Bandipora Encounter: After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, Indian soldiers are engaged in searching for terrorists. In this sequence, they killed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET) top commander Altaf Lali in an encounter in Bandipora. This operation is part of a comprehensive security operation to capture suspected Lashkar terrorists involved in the attack that killed 26 people.
After this, the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police started a joint search operation in Bandipora. The encounter started after the terrorists opened fire.
Two security force personnel injured in encounter
Earlier, news came that an associate (overground worker) of terrorists was killed in an encounter in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. Two security force personnel were injured in the operation.

Officials said that the security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Kulnar Bajipora area of Bandipora district after receiving information about the presence of terrorists. The terrorists hiding their opened fire on the security personnel, after which the encounter started.

Meanwhile, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi reached Srinagar. Here he was briefed about the operation going on in Bandipora. He will conduct a comprehensive security review of the situation. He will take information about the operation being carried out with the aim of locating the suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists behind the Pahalgam terror attack.
