Bangladesh: A massive fire broke out at the cargo terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on Saturday afternoon, forcing authorities to suspend all flight operations at the airport. The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. The fire broke out in the airport's cargo village, where imported goods are stored.
Multiple agencies, including the Civil Aviation Authority, the Fire Service, and the Air Force, are working to extinguish the blaze.

According to several Bangladeshi media reports, the airport's executive director, Mohammad Masudul Hasan Masud, confirmed the situation at 3:45 p.m. and assured that emergency measures were being taken.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the fire is being brought under control through joint efforts of the Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority, the Fire Service, and two firefighting units of the Bangladesh Air Force. The media outlet Prothomalo reports that the Navy has also joined the operation to help control the fire.

Airport cancels all flights
Currently, all landings and takeoffs have been suspended, and officials are closely monitoring the situation. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are yet to be confirmed.
The Cargo Village is located between the Shahjalal Airport Post Office and the hangar. The fire broke out in the Import Cargo Complex building, located next to Gate No. 8 of the airport, known as the Hangar Gate.

Fire breaks out in the Airport Cargo Village
The Cargo Village has 12 gates. The Import Cargo Complex has three gates. The fire broke out on the north side of the complex, next to Gate No. 3. The fire has now spread throughout the building.
