Bangladesh was looking with hope, PM Modi fulfilled his 'dream'
Bangladesh's Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has been looking towards India for the past several days. Yunus knows that one cannot stay for long after spoiling relations with India. This is the reason why he wants to have bilateral talks with PM Modi in the BIMSTEC summit to be held in Bangkok. However, India has not responded yet.
Not only this, Yunus wanted to come to India before going to China, but he did not get any response. Now, amidst all this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given some relief to Yunus and Bangladesh by writing a letter.
Actually, PM Modi has written a letter to Yunus on the occasion of Bangladesh's National Day.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has written a letter to Yunus on the Independence Day of the neighboring country and congratulated him. He said that the spirit of the 1971 Liberation War continues to be the guiding force for relations between New Delhi and Dhaka.

On the other hand, Yunus is on a visit to China. But before this visit, he wanted to come to India. Yunus's press secretary Shafiqul Alam said that we really showed our interest and asked the Indian side for Yunus' bilateral visit to India in December last year itself. Unfortunately, we did not get any positive response. Yunus is the second leader from South Asia to reach China in four months. Before him, Nepal's Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli went to China on a four-day visit in December 2024.
What is India's stand on Bangladesh?
India does not seem to be in a mood to give much importance to Bangladesh. It has been sending messages to it from time to time. The Ministry of External Affairs told a parliamentary committee on Wednesday that apart from not accepting the persecution of minorities, the Bangladesh government has also tried to downplay the scale and nature of violence against Hindus after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government.
