Bank Holidays List in September 2025: Like every month, there will be some holidays in banks in September 2025 as well. In such a situation, if you have any important work related to the bank, then you should plan in advance, otherwise there may be trouble at the last moment. According to the official list of bank holidays of September 2025 of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks will not work for a total of 15 days including festivals, state level occasions and weekend holidays.

According to RBI rules, holidays are not the same in all banks. Holidays are fixed in every state on the basis of local festivals and regional events. This means that the banks which are open in one state may be closed in another state. Therefore, it is important that you go to the bank only after looking at the list of holidays of your state.
Banks will remain closed on weekends and festivals
Banks will remain closed every Sunday and on the second and fourth Saturdays of in September month . The first Sunday of this month will fall on 7 September. After this, the second Saturday on 13 September and Sunday on 14 September, banks will remain closed for two consecutive days. Similarly, there will be a bank holiday again on 27 September (fourth Saturday) and 28 September (Sunday).

Many big festivals like Onam, Eid-e-Milad, Navratri Sthapana and Durga Puja will be celebrated in September 2025. Banks will remain closed on these occasions. Here you can see the bank holiday list for the month of September:
Digital services will remain operational
Although bank branches will remain closed during these holidays, digital services like net banking, mobile banking, UPI and ATM will continue to run normally. But if you are thinking of doing offline work like check clearing, draft deposit or branch visit, then finish them before the holidays.
