Grand Inauguration of BAPS Hindu Temple in Abu Dhabi by spiritual leader Swami Maharaj
The BAPS Hindu Temple is going to be the first stone-built temple in the traditional Hindu architectural style in the Middle East. Located in Abu Murekha, this magnificent temple epitomizes the strong friendship between India and the UAE and the spirit of cultural harmony and cooperation.

The project has been made possible thanks to the generosity of the UAE government and its rulers. In 2015, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, donated 13.5 acres of land for the construction of the temple. Then during the 'Year of Tolerance' in January 2019, another 13.5 acres of land was allotted - a total of 27 acres of land was gifted to the temple.
On arrival at the airport, His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj was warmly welcomed by His Highness Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Tolerance. Sheikh Nahyan welcomed Pujya Mahant Swami Maharaj and said,
“Welcome to the UAE. This country is blessed by your presence. We are touched by your good wishes. We feel your blessings.”
Pujya Mahant Swami Maharaj told them, “Your love and respect is touching. The leaders of the UAE are great and big-hearted.”
His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj as the 'State Guest' was warmly welcomed by dancers, drummers and singers in the traditional Arabic cultural style of 'Al-Ayyala'. This type of presentation is usually reserved for national festivals or to welcome heads of state.

On the occasion of the inauguration of this iconic temple, the 'Festival of Harmony' - i.e. 'Festival of Harmony' - will be celebrated, under which various interesting programs and community events will be organized to inculcate the values of faith, service and harmony among people of different backgrounds.
Pujya Brahmaviharidas Swami who is managing this temple project under the guidance of His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj said, “The BAPS Hindu Temple in Abu Dhabi has emerged as a spiritual island for global harmony, celebrating the rich heritage of the past, and guiding the future. This temple is a timeless testament to the spirituality of His Holiness Swami Maharaj and the generosity, honesty and friendship of the leadership of both the UAE and India and the BAPS organization.”
