Bengaluru Suitcase Murder Case: New details have emerged in the case of 32-year-old Gauri Anil Sambrekar, also known as Gauri Khedekar, whose body was found inside a suitcase in her home.

According to reports, her husband, Rakesh Rajendra Khedekar, allegedly informed their landlord about the crime before fleeing. Rakesh, who worked as a project manager at a private company, left for Mumbai on Tuesday. On Thursday evening, he reportedly called the landlord, revealing what he had done. Couple Had Recently Moved to Bengaluru

The couple had been married for two years and had moved into a rented third-floor duplex in Doddakammanahalli, near Hulimavu, in February 2025. While Rakesh worked remotely, Gauri, a mass media graduate, was searching for a job.

Forensic Investigation Underway

Forensic experts discovered a stab wound on Gauri’s body, which was found intact inside a suitcase in the washroom. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Sarah Fathima confirmed that forensic teams and Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO) gathered crucial evidence before sending the body for autopsy.

Authorities are still investigating the motive behind the murder. Gauri’s family has been informed, and further updates are awaited.

Similar Case in Bengaluru

This case is reminiscent of another gruesome murder in Bengaluru in September 2024. In that incident, the dismembered body of a 29-year-old woman from Jharkhand was discovered inside a refrigerator in a flat in the Vyalikaval area.

The victim’s landlord found the body after noticing a foul smell in the neighborhood. Investigations revealed that Mukti Ranjan Ray had fatally attacked Mahalakshmi at her home. He later bought a knife to dismember her body.
