In Noida, Uttar Pradesh, the Police Commissionerate has achieved a major success under ‘Operation Conviction’ by securing convictions for 5,080 criminals implicated in heinous offenses. This campaign is driven by the aim of initiating strict measures against offenders and delivering prompt justice to victims; in this endeavor, the police have played a pivotal role by conducting effective legal advocacy to ensure the courts punish the guilty parties.

This campaign is being conducted with the dual objective of taking strict action against criminals and ensuring swift justice for victims.

What is the full scope of the matter?

Specifically, according to data spanning from January 1, 2023, to April 3, 2026, the police successfully secured convictions in a total of 4,549 cases by presenting robust evidence and compelling arguments. These cases involve grave offenses such as violations of the POCSO Act, rape, dowry deaths, murder, kidnapping, robbery, and dacoity. Notably, convictions were secured in 104 cases under the POCSO Act, 16 cases of rape, and 4 cases of dowry death.

Furthermore, the courts found the accused guilty in 62 murder cases, 15 dacoity cases, and 323 robbery cases. This outcome underscores the effectiveness of the police investigations and the evidence presented before the courts.

The campaign has also ensured the imposition of severe penalties. A total of 117 criminals were sentenced to life imprisonment, while 32 criminals received sentences of 20 years, and 37 were sentenced to 10 years. These severe penalties have not only instilled a sense of fear among criminals but have also strengthened public trust in the law. Noida Police officials state that the objective of ‘Operation Conviction’ is not limited merely to making arrests; securing convictions for the guilty is considered equally vital.

In line with this objective, the police are continuously bolstering the prosecution's efforts, and cases are being monitored on a regular basis.

Campaign Against Crime

Additional Commissioner of Police Rajiv Narain Mishra stated that the police are continuously tightening their grip on crime and criminals. In recent days, several miscreants have sustained injuries during police operations, while numerous others have been arrested and sent to jail. He made it clear that this campaign against crime would continue with undiminished strictness in the future. ‘Operation Conviction’ is undoubtedly proving to be an effective initiative toward strengthening law and order and curbing criminal activity.
