Bihar: On Saturday (November 8th), a large number of VVPAT slips were found on the roadside in the Sarairanjan Assembly constituency in Samastipur district, Bihar. Photos and videos of these slips are going viral on social media. The discovery of VVPAT slips has caused a stir. The RJD has questioned the transparency of the electoral process and the Election Commission regarding this matter.

The RJD has raised questions about the Election Commission. These slips were found near Sheetalpatti village in the Sarairanjan Assembly constituency, where voting took place on November 6th.

Disappearance of VVPAT slips in Samastipur sparks uproar

RJD has shared a video on social media plateform. It states, "A VVPAT slips from EVMs were found thrown in the Sarairanjan Assembly constituency of Samastipur. When, how, and why, and at whose behest were these slips thrown?

Will the Thief Commission answer this? Is all this happening at the behest of a robber of democracy who has come from outside and is camping in Bihar?"

VVPAT Slips Found in Garbage

According to reports, VVPAT slips were found in the garbage. These slips were found near Sheetalpatti village in the Sarairanjan Assembly constituency, where voting took place on November 6th. It is reported that when villagers saw the election symbol slips in the garbage heap that morning, they immediately informed the police.

DM Orders Investigation

The DM, who arrived at the scene, has ordered an immediate investigation considering the seriousness of the matter. Initial investigations have revealed that these slips were from a mock poll and were accidentally thrown away. RJD candidate Arvind Sahni arrived at the scene with his supporters, leading to a massive uproar. The District Magistrate has taken cognizance of the entire matter and, in accordance with the law, has ordered the registration of an FIR against the concerned personnel.

Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar stated this.

Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar stated that the District Magistrate of Samastipur has been directed to investigate the matter on the spot. Since these were VVPAT slips from a mock poll, the fairness of the voting process has not been affected. He stated that the concerned candidates have also been informed by the District Magistrate. However, due to negligence, the concerned ARO is being suspended and an FIR is being registered.
