Tejashwi’s ‘Grand Promise’
The alliance stated that this is not just an election document, but a historic pledge to build a prosperous and just Bihar. The manifesto accuses the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government of governance failure, corruption, and increased unemployment over the past two decades.
Key Promises and Announcements
One Job Per Family:
The All India Alliance has promised to introduce a law providing government jobs to one member of every family within 20 days of forming the government. The process for providing jobs has been stated to begin within 20 months.
Mai-Behin Maan Yojana' for women:
Women will receive financial assistance of ₹2,500 per month starting December 1st. They will receive a total of ₹30,000 annually over five years. The 'BETI' scheme for daughters and the 'MAI' scheme for mothers have been announced.
Contractual workers will be made permanent:
All contract and outsourcing employees will be made permanent. Jeevika Didis will receive government employee status and a salary of ₹30,000.
Reinstatement of the Old Pension Scheme:
The OPS (Old Pension Scheme) has been promised to be reinstated in the state.
Free Electricity and Pension:
Every family will receive free electricity up to 200 units. There will be a provision for a monthly pension of ₹1,500 and ₹3,000 for the elderly, widows, and the disabled, respectively.
Emphasis on Education and Employment:
The announcement has been made to open a women's college in each subdivision and new degree colleges in 136 blocks. The promise also includes the elimination of form fees for competitive exams and free travel for students to the examination center.
MSP Guarantee for Farmers:
The purchase of all crops at the minimum support price will be guaranteed, and mandis will be reactivated.
Health Security:
Free health insurance up to ₹25 lakh will be provided to every individual. District hospitals and medical colleges will be equipped with super-specialty facilities.
Grand Alliance Attacks the NDA Government
Through the manifesto, the Grand Alliance has directly attacked the NDA government. Tejashwi Yadav said that in the name of good governance for 20 years, Bihar has seen only injustice, migration, and unemployment. Now is the time to build a just and new Bihar.
"We have to bring Bihar back on track."
Congress leader Pawan Khera said, "The Grand Alliance was the first to announce its chief ministerial candidate. We also released our manifesto first. This shows who is serious about Bihar. We decided from day one what we would do for Bihar. We have to bring Bihar back on track. Today is a very auspicious day because the state of Bihar was waiting for this 'pledge.'"
"Will serve Bihar for 30-35 years."
On this occasion, VIP chief and Grand Alliance deputy CM face Mukesh Sahni said, "...Today we have launched a resolution letter for a new Bihar. For the next 30-35 years, we will work to serve the people of Bihar. We will fulfill all their aspirations. We will fulfill all the promises made to the people. The people of the state are standing in support of the Grand Alliance, and we are forming the government in Bihar. On the other hand, the NDA has no 'pledge.'"
