Bomb Threat targets Ram Janaki Temple in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh
Tensions rise in Kanpur as the historic Ram Janaki Temple becomes the latest target of a bomb threat, just six days post the grand Pran Prathishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya.
The serene atmosphere surrounding the temple was shattered when several ominous posters, explicitly mentioning bomb threats, were discovered plastered on the temple walls and scattered across its ancient floors. The gravity of the situation escalated as prominent BJP leader Rohit Sahu, also a trustee of the revered Ram Janaki Temple, received a chilling threat letter.
In an unexpected turn of events, this threat comes on the heels of a recent bhava programme conducted at the Ram Janaki Temple during the Pran Pratistha ceremony in Ayodhya. The incident has sparked fear and concern among the temple authorities and the local community.
Rahul Sahu, the younger brother of Rohit Sahu, shared his apprehensions, stating, I got information about threat letters pasted on the temple's walls and scattered on the floor in the morning. When I came here, I too saw threat letters scattered everywhere. I got scared, closed the doors and put up the police barricades in order to avoid any situation that could possibly arise."
Law enforcement swiftly responded to the distress call, with police officials promptly arriving at the temple premises to assess the situation.
"We have found out about threatening posters inside the temple premises. We will file a case against the miscreants involved. The letter has certain objectionable things written on it," commented a spokesperson from the police department.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, raising concerns about the security of religious institutions in the region. Authorities are now intensifying security measures around the Ram Janaki Temple to ensure the safety of worshippers and prevent any potential acts of violence. The investigation is ongoing, with law enforcement committed to bringing the culprits to justice and maintaining the sanctity of religious spaces in Uttar Pradesh.
