Bus Falls Into Gorge In Jammu And Kashmir’s Poonch, 3 Dead, More Than 40 Injured

A tragic accident took place in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir. A bus full of passengers fell into a ditch here on Tuesday morning. Three people died tragically and more than 40 people were injured in this accident. The injured have been evacuated. This bus was going from Ghani village to Mendhar when this accident happened in Mankot area.

Meanwhile security officials said that on Tuesday, a private passenger bus slipped off the road and fell into a ditch in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, killing three people and injuring 43 others.

They said that the bus was going from Ghani village to Mendhar when this accident happened near Sangra in Mankot area at around 9.20 am. The injured are being rescued.

15 ambulances reached the spot

The doctor said that on receiving information about the accident, we have deployed all 15 ambulances and the injured were removed from the spot with the active assistance of police, CRPF, army and local volunteers.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed grief over the death of people in the accident. He said that I am saddened by the death of people in the tragic road accident in Poonch. In this hour of grief, my condolences are with those who have lost their loved ones. I pray for the speedy recovery of those injured in the accident.

Reaction of Jammu and Kashmir government

The Jammu and Kashmir government said that it would provide all necessary assistance to the victims of the accident and their families. Minister Javed Ahmed Rana said in a post on X that I am deeply saddened by the tragic bus accident.

I have spoken to the Divisional Commissioner of Jammu and directed him to ensure immediate assistance, including airlifting the seriously injured to GMC Jammu. The Jammu and Kashmir government will provide all necessary assistance to the affected people.
