Central Universities (Amendment) Bill is expected to be introduced in Parliament's Winter Session today
On Wednesday, the 10th day of the Parliament's Winter Session, a number of bills will be addressed in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. This day, 22 years ago, saw an attack on the Parliament complex by terrorists from the Pakistan-based groups Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed, which resulted in 9 deaths. The security personnel killed down all five terrorists.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the families of the fallen jawans at Parliament on Wednesday. To honor the martyrs today, PM Modi, Speaker of the Lok Sabha Om Birla, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, President JP Nadda of the BJP, President Mallikarjun Kharge of the Congress, Chairperson Sonia Gandhi of the Congress Parliamentary Party, and other dignitaries observed a minute of silence at the Parliament.
Repealing and Amending Bill, 2023 will be discussed
The usual business of both houses of parliament will resume at approximately 11:00 a.m. The Repealing and Amending Bill, 2023 will be brought before the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday by Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal for discussion and eventual approval. The purpose of the bill is to reform and eliminate a few laws. The Lok Sabha had already approved the bill.
Central Universities (Amendment) Bill, 2023 is expected to be introduced
The Central Universities (Amendment) Bill, 2023 is expected to be introduced by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in the Rajya Sabha today for consideration and approval. The Central Universities Act of 2009 is intended to be amended by this bill. The Lok Sabha had already approved the bill.
Regarding the progress of implementing the suggestions and observations found in the 350th Report of the Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth, and Sports on Demands for Grants (2023–24) regarding the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Union Minister Smriti Zubin Irani is scheduled to address the Rajya Sabha today.
Aside from that, three reports from the Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth, and Sports will be presented by Rajya Sabha MPs Vivek Thakur, Sangeeta Yadav, and Faitaz Ahmad (in both Hindi and English).

Parliament winter session will end on December 22
The Winter Session of Parliament for 2023 convened on December 4 and will run for 19 days, with 15 sittings. It ends on December 22.
