Chamoli Avalanche Update: Death toll rises to 7, one worker still missing
Chamoli Avalanche Update: Rescue operation continues on Sunday after the avalanche in Chamoli. Four missing workers were being searched, out of which three bodies have been found. Now the death toll has gone up to seven. Seven army helicopters and one private company helicopter are engaged in rescue today. A team of SDRF is searching with victim locating and thermal image camera.

Till yesterday four workers had died, now the death toll has gone up to seven. Soldiers are searching for a missing worker.
Death toll rises to 7
Rescue operation was started in Badrinath-Mana on Sunday morning. Indian Air Force officials informed that a Mi-17 helicopter is ready to airlift a drone-based Intelligent Buried Object Detection System for search operations in avalanche-hit areas in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district on Sunday.
In the rescue operation, Pawan's son of Mahendra Singh (23) Ishapur, Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, who was seriously injured, has been referred to AIIMS Rishikesh by heli ambulance. While one person was referred on Saturday.
IAF Cheetah helicopters have been engaged in rescue operations in Chamoli's Mana area since Saturday after the avalanche hit the BRO camp near Mana village in Joshimath on February 28.

Disaster Management Secretary of Uttarakhand Vinod Kumar Suman said, the weather has supported. A total of 54 (BRO employees) were missing, out of which 50 were rescued and rescue operations are underway to search for others.
Chief Minister reached Disaster Control Room
Earlier today (Sunday), Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached the Disaster Control Room at IT Park, Dehradun to review the rescue operation going on for the second consecutive day to rescue Border Roads Organisation (BRO) personnel in Mana, Chamoli.
CM released the report
Earlier on Saturday, the Uttarakhand government released a detailed report on the avalanche that occurred near the BRO camp at Mana Gate in Joshimath on February 28. Rescue and relief operations are continuing on a war footing under the direction of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Giving an update on the situation,
Chamoli District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari said, "Yesterday doctors have confirmed four deaths. Earlier the total number was 55, but now we have received information that one of these employees was on unauthorized leave and has come home.
Army helipad ready for emergency operations
The Army helipad near Mana Base Camp has been prepared for emergency operations. Challenges remain due to heavy snowfall, with 6-7 feet of snow accumulated in Badrinath and roads closed at many places.
Efforts are on to clear the 5-6 km stretch blocked due to snowfall near Badrinath.
On 1 March at 10 am, Major General Prem Raj, GoC Uttarakhand Sub Area and Brigadier Harish Sethi visited the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC) to assess the ongoing Army-led rescue operations and assured full support.
