In a full lunar eclipse, the moon is completely absorbed in the shadow of the earth and then its color starts appearing red. Today's eclipse will be exactly like this.

The people will be able to see the amazing view of 'Blood Moon', which is going to be seen after many years. The full blood moon will also be seen in Bihar.

According to astronomers, it will start at 8:58 pm and will last till 12 midnight. In total, people will be able to see this amazing view for one hour twenty-eight minutes and six seconds.

What is lunar eclipse and blood moon?

September 7 is going to be very special for Indians. The longest full lunar eclipse after the year 2022 will be visible today. Astronomers say that this astronomical event will be visible from every part of the country and after this people will have to wait till 31 December 2028 to see such a long eclipse.

During this time, the moon will be completely in the shadow of the earth and will shine in a mysterious aura of red color. This is why it is also called Blood Moon.

Where will the lunar eclipse be seen today?

Apart from India, this astronomical event will also be visible in most parts of Asia, Australia, Europe and East Africa. However, it will not be visible in most parts of North and South America.

It will be clearly visible from almost every part of India including all the major cities - Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Patna and Ranchi.

Sutak period and religious traditions in Bihar

Sutak period will start from 1 pm on Sunday in entire Bihar including Patna, Gaya, Darbhanga, Bhagalpur, border areas adjoining Ranchi. According to tradition, the doors of temples will be closed as soon as the Sutak period begins. According to religious beliefs, worship of deities, food and touch are prohibited during this period.

Rare coincidence of Pitru Paksha and lunar eclipse

This time the full lunar eclipse has become even more special because it is falling during Pitru Paksha. There is a religious belief that by performing tarpan, pinddaan and donation with reverence and devotion during this period, the souls of ancestors are satisfied. It is believed that when the ancestors are satisfied, their blessings bring happiness in the family.
