Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to visit Ayodhya on Thursday to oversee preparations ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming visit to the sacred city on December 30, according to officials.

Despite a delay caused by dense morning fog blanketing the city, Adityanath is expected to arrive shortly, officials have confirmed. Upon his arrival, the Chief Minister will first visit the Hanumangarhi temple to pay homage to Lord Hanuman. Subsequently, he will seek a "darshan" of Ram Lalla and conduct an inspection of the ongoing construction work at the Ram temple.

Ramesh Das, a 'pujari' at the ancient Hanumangarhi temple, stated, "We have received information that he will be coming to our temple to pay obeisance to Hanumanji." He added that it is customary for dignitaries to visit the Hanumangarhi temple upon their arrival in Ayodhya, considering it is the abode of the presiding deity of the city.

Sources suggest that the Chief Minister may also visit the newly constructed Ayodhya airport during his visit, although there is no official confirmation on this aspect.

Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to visit Ayodhya on December 30 to inaugurate the redeveloped Ayodhya railway station and airport. Additionally, he will address a rally, as previously announced by officials.

The consecration ceremony of the Ram temple is set for January 22, with the Prime Minister in attendance. A ceremonial gateway to the temple site has been erected, leading to the construction site from near the Hanumangarhi temple. Enhanced security measures have been implemented around the temple, anticipating a significant influx of visitors in the lead-up to the consecration ceremony.

Ayodhya is gearing up for the momentous occasion, with a massive crowd expected. The city is undergoing preparations, including the installation of sun-themed columns, 'Surya Stambhs,' along a prominent street. The Ram temple complex, covering 70 acres, will predominantly be a green area, with the trust highlighting its self-sufficiency, incorporating sewage and water treatment plants, a fire brigade post, and a dedicated power line, as shared by Ram temple trust general secretary Champat Rai earlier this week. About 70 percent of the complex will be designated as a green area, preserving approximately 600 existing trees within the green belt.
