CM post and Mahant's throne were through kinship... Swami Avimukteshwarananda's attack on CM Yogi
Shankaracharya Avimukteshwarananda has sharply retorted to CM Yogi's statement. He accused Yogi of meeting relatives and targeting Brahmins. The Shankaracharya clarified the validity of his position.
Shankaracharya has countered CM Yogi Adityanath's statement on Swami Avimukteshwarananda. He said that the CM does not even know the simple fact that he was not Shankaracharya in 2015. He said that he remains the Gorakhnath Peethadhiswar. Shankaracharya alleged that Yogi Adityanath obtained both the Mahant's throne and the Chief Minister's position due to kinship.
Meanwhile, CM Yogi had stated that "no one is above the law" regarding the Magh Mela controversy.
He said that CM Yogi repeatedly calls a person, whom the Supreme Court has prohibited from calling himself Shankaracharya, Shankaracharya, and that the BJP wants to see a sycophant as Shankaracharya. In this government, Brahmins in Uttar Pradesh are targeted.
Shankaracharya of Jyotirpeeth, Swami Avimukteshwarananda Saraswati, has responded to CM Yogi's questions. Speaking to TV9 Digital, Swami Avimukteshwarananda said that the Shankaracharyas of the other three Peethas recognized him as the Shankaracharya of Jyotirpeeth and performed the consecration. Now, there is no question of anyone else recognizing or not recognizing him.
No one is above the law
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, breaking his silence for the first time on the controversy surrounding the police stopping Jyotirpeeth Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwarananda while he was taking a bath during the Magh Mela held in Prayagraj last month, said on Friday that no one is above the law.
He also targeted the Samajwadi Party (SP) on this issue, saying that this incident reminded him of the lathicharge and case against Swami Avimukteshwarananda in Varanasi during the SP's rule in 2015, and asserted that everyone is equal in the eyes of the law. Yogi said that he knows how to follow the law and also knows how to enforce it.
Summary
Responding to the discussion on the Governor's address in the Assembly, Adityanath said, "I ask, can every person roam around the state as Chief Minister, as a Minister, as the National President of the Samajwadi Party? There is a system for this. Similar systems exist in India's Sanatan Dharma."
