Corporation notified 12-hour interruption in water supply in some parts of Thane, Maharashtra
On Wednesday, November 29, the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) notified Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation of a 12-hour interruption in water supply in some parts of Thane. TMC stated that the outage would take place on December 1 due to repair and maintenance.
According to the report, the main areas impacted by the 12-hour water cut are:
- Diva
- Mumbra
- Kalwa
- Rupadevi Pada
- Kisan Nagar No. 2
- Nehru Nagar
- Kolshet
TMC also provides water to Wagle Estate, Mumbra, Diva, Kalwa, Majiwada, Manpada, and other areas under its jurisdiction. According to a report by Mid Day, residents should be informed that the supply of water will be at a low pressure for 1-2 days after it is restored.
The report went on to say that city dwellers have also been urged to use water wisely and with conservation.
Around 250 MLD of water are supplied daily from the Bhatsa dam, according to a statement made earlier this month by Vinod Pawar, Deputy Engineer in the Thane Municipal Corporation's Water Department.
Out of the 250 MLD of water, the STEM Authority provided 115 MLD, MIDC provided 135 MLD and TMC provided 85 MLD. The daily supply is going to be reduced. The air bladder pneumatic gate system is undergoing repairs, according to a Hindustan Times report.
According to a report by the Hindustan Times, the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) presented a Rs. 4,370-crore budget for the financial year 2023–24 on March 22, 2023, Rs. 1,071 crore more than the previous year. No proposals for tax hikes were included in the budget.

The Barvi Gravity Channel at Katai Naka will undergo urgent repair work via Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation. Thus, in the Thane municipal area on Friday, December 1, 2023, from 12.00 to Res. Starting at 12.00, the MIDC water supply will be cut off for 12 hours.
