Deadly Landslides And Floods In Nepal And India:  The rains continue to wreak havoc in Nepal and North Bengal. The Darjeeling landslide has claimed 23 lives so far. The death toll from floods and landslides in Nepal following heavy rains has also risen. Officials say 53 people have died so far, with many more missing. Eight major rivers in eastern Nepal are flowing above the danger mark due to the continuous rainfall.

Floods and landslides in Nepal have killed 53 people

The highest number of deaths in Nepal have been caused by landslides in Ilam district, where 43 bodies have been recovered from the debris. While heavy rains have led to reports of landslides in several areas, 24 highways in Nepal have been completely closed. All 56 gates of the Kosi Barrage have been opened, releasing 500,000 cusecs of water per second.
