Delhi CM: BJP government is going to start in Delhi from today. A day earlier, Rekha Gupta was elected leader in the BJP Legislature Party meeting. The list of ministers includes the names of Pravesh Verma and Ashish Sood, who were in the race for the Chief Minister, as well as Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Kapil Mishra, Pankaj Singh and Ravindra Raj.

The first name in the list of 6 names going to take oath as ministers in the Delhi government is Pravesh Verma. Pravesh Verma, son of former Delhi Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma, is one of the big faces of BJP who reached the assembly in Delhi elections. He has reached the assembly by defeating Aam Aadmi Party's national convenor and CM candidate Arvind Kejriwal from New Delhi assembly seat.

Pravesh was being described as a strong contender for CM due to defeating Arvind Kejriwal and reaching the assembly. Now he is going to become a minister in Rekha Gupta cabinet.

Pravesh Verma

47-year-old Pravesh Verma comes from the Jat community. Pravesh Verma has reached the Delhi Assembly by defeating Aam Aadmi Party's Arvind Kejriwal from New Delhi assembly seat by a margin of 4089 votes. Pravesh Verma was elected as an assembly member for the first time from Mehrauli seat in the 2013 Delhi elections.

Then Pravesh Verma defeated his nearest rival Narinder Singh Sejwal of Aam Aadmi Party by a margin of 4564 votes. Pravesh Verma was also an MP from South Delhi seat in the 2014 and 2019 general elections.

In 2014, Pravesh Verma won by a margin of more than 2 lakh 68 thousand votes, while in 2019 his victory margin was more than 5 lakh 78 thousand votes.

Pravesh Verma has done MBA after graduation from Delhi University. His wife Swati Singh is the daughter of former Union Minister and Madhya Pradesh BJP stalwart Vikram Verma. Pravesh Verma has been associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh
