Delhi elections: Counting of votes at 19 centers from 8 am, know how EVMs will be opened
The results of Delhi assembly elections are to be announced today. While counting of votes will start from 8 am. To decide this, votes were cast at 13,766 polling stations on February 5. Today (February 8), counting of about 95 lakh votes will start from 8 am on Saturday. By afternoon it will be known whether the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government is returning to power in Delhi, or the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will form the government in Delhi.However, Congress can also win some seats in Delhi.
EVMs have been kept in strong rooms amid tight security. The opening of these EVMs will decide the future of 698 candidates of Delhi.
Only authorized personnel allowed inside
Counting of votes will be done at 19 counting centers in Delhi. Today, the fate of 698 candidates will be decided. All these candidates were in the election fray. Special Police Commissioner Devesh Chandra Srivastava said, 'We have made strong security arrangements for the counting of votes. Only authorized personnel will be allowed inside the counting centers, where the use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited.'
EVMs will be brought from the strong room to the counter table
The Election Commission said that EVMs have been kept in the strong room before counting. More than 60 percent of Delhi's 1.56 crore voters have voted this time. EVMs will be brought to the counter table on Saturday under full security. Along with this, VVPATs will also be brought.
Strong rooms have been sealed. CCTV cameras have been installed for surveillance at the counting place. Recording and monitoring of these CCTV cameras is also being done.

5 VVPATs will be taken out randomly in every assembly
5000 staff have been deployed by the Election Commission for counting of votes. 5 VVPATs will be randomly selected in every assembly for counting of voting slips. About 5,000 employees will be on duty to ensure free and fair counting.
Last time AAP won 62 seats
Let us tell you that in the 2020 assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party won 62 seats. Aam Aadmi Party got 53.5% vote share. BJP won eight seats. Then BJP got 38.5% votes. Congress did not get a single seat in the 2020 assembly elections. Congress got 5%.
